Md Ehsan Sadat
|
Education:
Md Ehsan Sadat received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Physics (2008) from Department of Physics, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, which is the top ranked university for physical science research in Bangladesh. He secured First class 1st position in B.Sc (Honours) exam out of 80 students. He received the Professor Ali Imam Memorial Gold medal award from University of Dhaka for getting highest marks in B.Sc (Honours) examination. He also completed Master of Science in Physics (2009) from the same institution securing First class 1st position among 45 students. For the whole study period in M.S, he received the Habib Khadim Safrul Memorial Scholarship for making bright result in B.Sc (Honours) examination. Currently he is a PhD candidate (Expected graduation date, December 2015) at University of Cincinnati in Department of Physics, Cincinnati, OH, USA. His current research under supervision of Dr. David B Mast and Dr. Donglu Shi focuses on understanding the magnetic, optical properties and relaxation dynamics of various surface modified Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NP) for biomedical applications. Based on his studies, he was able to successfully develop a model for hyperthermia heating of nanomaterial systems in AC magnetic field, with which new phenomena of nanomaterials can be understood in terms of dipole interactions and relaxation. |
Technical and other skills:
Md Ehsan Sadat has expertise in magnetic nanomaterials development and characterization, as well as skilled in nanotechnology, solid state device physics and high power audio, radio and microwave measurements. He has designed and developed a custom build AC susceptometer system and a vibrating sample magnetometer system to conduct his measurements. He has significant experience in making custom electronics, low temperature measurements and superconducting electromagnetic system development and operation. To explore the applicability of the magnetic materials for biomedical applications, he also developed a RF electromagnetic system and assembled different diode laser system to investigate the magnetic and optical behavior.
During his doctoral studies, he is also responsible for maintain collaboration with scientist and professor of China, Ames Laboratory, Iowa and Stanford University; as well as developed the ability to conduct research project independently and supervisor skills by training new graduate students. He also have expertise in preparation of magnetic nanomaterials by chemical synthesis method (Co-Precipitation and Thermal Decomposition), hands on experience in photolithography process, mechanical drawing in AutoCAD, COMSOL multiphysics simulation software, state of art electronics, low temperature measurements, TEM, SEM, Raman, FTIR, X-ray diffraction methods and different electrical, magneto-optical characterization techniques.
